Science ATL produces events and community-building activities to improve access to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEM/STEAM) learning opportunities, and to strengthen Atlanta’s STEAM ecosystem.
Our flagship initiative, Atlanta Science Festival, has brought engaging informal science learning experiences to more than 300,000 people in the metro region. Since 2014, Festival events have inspired many Atlanta youth and adults to see that science is present all around and can be for everyone, not just those with white coats in labs.
In addition to the Festival, Science ATL develops and collaborates on new and accessible year-round events, broadens and strengthens partnerships across educational, cultural, and industry sectors, and inspires and prepares the next generation of STEM leaders. Science ATL includes The Science Scene community events calendar, the Chief Science Officers leadership program for middle and high school students, STEM Professional School Partnerships program, and additional public science events and learning opportunities throughout the year, such as the 5K Race Through Space.
