Our long-time friend and volunteer, Danielle Freeman, is the inaugural Debbie Mullis Volunteer of the Year. Be like Danielle and become a Science ATL volunteer too!
Volunteer Roles
School and Youth Programs
STEM professionals from industry and academia can volunteer for year-long roles with Science ATL’s Chief Science Officer and STEM Professional School Partnership programs in metro area schools, or get connected to one-off opportunities for career talks, science fair judging, STEM night programs, and other opportunities to inspire students about STEM topics and careers.
- Leadership Coach for middle and high school students in the Chief Science Officer program. Applications for the 2023-2024 school year close Sept 15.
- School Partner: partner with a K-12 educator for monthly classroom interactions in the STEM professional School Partnership program. Applications for the 2023-2024 school year are closed.
- Classroom Visit: to kick off the annual Atlanta Science Festival, we mobilize 100 STEM professionals to visit 100 classrooms in 1 day! Suitable for individual or group volunteering. Applications open Dec 1.
Public Events
Share your passion for science by helping out at our public science events! Duties may include setup, cleanup, attendee registration, wayfinding, ushering, crowd control, and distributing materials at the Atlanta Science Festival in March (where you can get our signature pink shirt) and at other events throughout the year.
General Organizational Support
As a tiny non-profit, we can use all hands on deck! If you’ve got a special skill, are great at organizing data, can provide administrative support, or just want to help our cause, we need you!
- Deliver materials to prepare for the annual Atlanta Science Festival
- Support our general office functions for mailings, data entry, or database maintenance
- Flexible timing to complete projects
