The Georgia Chief Science Officers initiative develops a cadre of diverse STEM student leaders in middle and high schools across the state. The program launches in 2018 for 24 students from three metro Atlanta school districts, with plans to expand to 100 students across the state in three years. Georgia Chief Science Officers is a Science ATL program, engineered by Atlanta Science Festival.

The Science ATL Communication Fellowship is designed to help close the communication gap between scientists and the public. Current graduate students and post-docs in the STEM fields are invited to apply for this year-long program where they will learn to communicate both their general science knowledge and unique research with the public more effectively.
