We are currently seeking Leadership Coaches for our Georgia Chief Science Officers program. Leadership Coaches are STEM industry professionals who meet virtually with CSOs to educate them about STEM career opportunities and help develop their leadership skills as CSOs complete a community action plan. Each CSO is a middle or high school student in our program to expand their leadership skills by creating and implementing a community action project that enhances STEM experiences for their peers. These projects include interviews with Black and Latinx STEM professionals via podcast, organizing a STEM Week about breast cancer, starting afterschool STEM clubs, and creating STEM kits and programs for their feeder elementary schools.
STEM professionals can come from a variety of fields and job types, including researchers, technicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and others whose careers involve the application of STEM learning.
We ask you to attend four Zoom meetings with CSOs where you will share your STEM story and engage in discussions on leadership topics. The spring 2021 dates are listed below:
- January 27, 6:00 PM
- February 24, 6:00 PM
- March 24, 6:00 PM
- April 21, 6:00 PM
- Complete the online application.
- Once we receive your completed application, we will send you a short training manual and a link to schedule a phone call so we can get to know you better. Please review the manual before the phone introduction so that we can answer any questions you may have.
- After the phone call is completed, we will provide a link to attend our online meetings via Zoom. This training takes place on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.
We appreciate your willingness to volunteer and invest in the next generation of STEM leaders.
