Select the tabs below to view our three main types of volunteer opportunities.
STEM professionals from industry and academia can volunteer for long-term or short-term roles supporting our partner schools at career talks, science fair judging, STEM nights and fairs.
- Classroom Visit: We mobilize STEM professionals to visit classrooms across metro Atlanta to engage K-12 students for a career day and get them excited about what you do. Our final classroom visits take place April 20-24 through our STEM Journeys: From Classroom to Career program.
- STEM Forward: Deepen your partnership with a classroom teacher and students to provide STEM learning opportunities. STEM Pro applications for the 2026-2027 school year will open in early summer!
- K-12 School Support: serve as a science fair judge, support STEM nights, or lead your own STEM activity station at our partner K-12 school STEM fairs.
Science ATL hosts year-round events that fosters community through science and provides accessible STEM learning opportunities through unique programs led by experts in their fields. As a volunteer, you provide on the ground support for these events and enjoy expertly-led programs!
- Nature Navigators outdoor series takes you on science-y hikes through our “city in the forest.”
- Discovery Walks explore our local neighborhoods and connect us to the every day science all around us.
- Learning and Bonding through Science (LABS) engages young adults and their grown-up with a unique laboratory experience!
- The Atlanta Science Festival was a whirlwind of science-y excitement. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers supporting the biggest science event of the year. We look forward to volunteering with you for next year’s ASF in March 2027!
As a tiny non-profit, we can use all hands on deck! If you’ve got a special skill, are great at organizing data, can provide administrative support, or just want to help our cause, we need you!
