In this L.A.B.S. event, join Decatur Makers and Science ATL as we challenge you to build a bee habitat! You and your kiddo will partner up in this engineering lab to learn about the needs of these social insects, and then design and build your habitat to take home. This experience is designed for middle school students to share with a parent in a joint learning (and building!) adventure.
Come ready to Learn And Bond through Science!

Please note that each ticket ($30) is for a pair (caregiver and child). You do not need a ticket for each person in the pair.

Critter Crawl: Murphey Candler Park

2026-09-19T14:00:00.000Z

Join us as we launch a new series...Critter Crawl! This walk is especially designed for families with younger children and up to middle school - although anyone and everyone are welcome to enjoy nature with us! We'll be exploring different parks throughout the year with our guide. We'll move at a slower pace so we can pay special attention to clues about the critters that call our parks home. Pawprints! Scat! Feathers! And maybe we'll even find some of the creatures themselves! We can't wait to trek through nature with you!
For our inaugural walk, we'll be meeting at Murphy Candler Park in Brookhaven. This in-town park with a lake and fun trails is home to plenty of critters - mallards, beavers, and more! Join us for this family-friendly nature exploration.

Registration coming early September!

The Story Collider

2026-10-08T23:00:00.000Z

True, personal stories about science come to life! Join us for an intimate evening outdoors at Waller's Coffee to hear science stories from both scientists and non-scientists. You'll hear stories that will make you cry, laugh and everything in between.

If you aren't convinced to come, take it from one of our past attendees who said, "Thank you so, so much for last night's incredible program - I am still riding high from the absolute wonder and elation and delight and soulfulness of the evening. I felt so moved and my heart remains so full after hearing the stories, and I am just over the moon for the magic there. The evening was such a gift."

Information about storytellers coming soon!
