STEM professionals from industry and academia can volunteer for long-term or short-term roles supporting our partner schools at career talks, science fair judging, STEM nights and fairs.
- Classroom Visit: In November and March, we mobilize 100 STEM professionals to visit 100 classrooms across metro Atlanta to engage K-12 students for a career day and get them excited about what you do!
- Leadership Coach: serve as a mentor to middle school students in the GA Chief Science Officer program. Check back in July for the new 2025 application period.
- STEM Pro School Partner: monthly partnership with a K-12 educator to present in-person classroom lessons about your STEM field, industry, or research. Check back in July for the new 2025 application period.
- K-12 School Support: serve as a science fair judge, support STEM nights, or lead your own STEM activity station at our partner K-12 school STEM fairs.
Science ATL hosts year-round events that fosters community through science and provides accessible STEM learning opportunities. Volunteers not only provide on the ground support, they also enjoy the events!
- Discovery Walk learning about the every day science around us
- Science-themed trivia or comedy night
- An evening of live, story-telling weaved in with everyday and personal connections to science
- 100+ festival events to support at the highly anticipated Atlanta Science Festival in March. Opportunities open in late January 2025!
As a tiny non-profit, we can use all hands on deck! If you’ve got a special skill, are great at organizing data, can provide administrative support, or just want to help our cause, we need you!
- Deliver materials to prepare for the annual Atlanta Science Festival. Help distribute marketing materials around local Atlanta shops to get the word out for ASF.
- Support our general office functions for mailings, data entry, or database maintenance
- Flexible timing to complete projects
