Into the Depths

A Family Book Expedition

During the months of June and July we will pair captivating and exploratory activities, events, and challenges with science-based books the entire family can enjoy! This multigenerational program will provide reading material for various age groups, centered around the same themes, for a collective and fun learning experience! This summer our theme is Into the Depths! In June, we’ll take you on a literary journey into the depths of outer space, For July, we’ll stay here on Earth, but go as deep as we can to uncover the mysteries of the ocean. There is so much to discover! By registering for our family book club, you will receive our monthly book club guides that include activities, recipes, discussion questions, and additional content to explore! Stay tuned for more communication about the book club including a full book list and events calendar!

Check out our book list, register for the book club (which includes reading guides for all book discussions), and sign up to join our summer events!

Summer Book List

We’ve pulled together an exciting list of books for every member of the family – whether you are a family of 2, 5 or 10, or even just flying solo! No need to read them all, but if you are a super-reader, go to town! We’ll spend the month of June focused on the depths of space and July focused on the ocean. Snag whatever books you are interested in from your local public library (or we’ve also linked each book for purchase from our friends at Little Shop of Stories). And don’t forget to register for the book club so you get our reading guide! We’ll have questions, prompts and resources for every reader to be able to contribute to the conversation around books!
