Black Birders and the Deep South

November 18, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

- Free

The arrival of #BlackBirdersWeek, in the wake of numerous racial injustice demonstrations across the US earlier this year, shined a much-needed light on Black leaders in outdoor professions, connecting Black birders to one another across the nation and in their own local communities. But how does the Deep South fit into a larger conversation about diversity in the birding world? Join us for a panel talk facilitated by our Black Belt Coordinator Meg Ford with Christian CooperDr. Rashidah FaridChris JoeDr. Drew Lanham, and Corina Newsome, as we hold a lens to the Deep South’s specific needs for a more inclusive future in birding.
