Birding Focus: We will look for seasonal migrants and resident species. Lullwater Preserve sits on 150 acres in the heart of Emory University’s campus. Candler Lake, at the center of the preserve, can be good for waterfowl, while providing open views to scan for hawks and other soaring birds. The forest surrounding the lake is good habitat for resident woodpeckers and nuthatches as well as seasonal migrants.
The duration of the walk will be three hours with about two miles of walking. Note: There are no bathrooms on our route so go easy on the coffee.
