Lunch and Learns are back, virtually! Join a member of our Forest Restoration team as they travel to various restoration sites to discuss invasive species identification and removal techniques for the species they frequently encounter around metro Atlanta. They’ll explain the ecological effects of these invasive species and the advantages of addressing them at seasonally opportune times, while also promoting a balanced, non-vilifying view of them and discussing some of their potential benefits.
After this Lunch and Learn, you will take away a greater understanding of the presence of invasive species and their effects, how to recognize them, when and if it’s appropriate to remove them, 2-3 specific removal techniques best-suited for each species, and ideas for native species to plant as substitutes. The event will be pre-recorded, but a Trees Atlanta staff member will be present for a Q&A session following the video presentation.
