In this beginner-level workshop, local artist Maroxby will introduce students to augmented reality through Spark Studio — the integrated development environment (or IDE) used to create Instagram filters and effects. Using Maroxby’s Election Cyclorama AR-Board Game as a guide, students will create their own unique board game and player markers, integrate them into Spark, and publish their own AR game boards.
After this course, students should be able to:
Identify the ideation/blueprinting of mixed-media based storytelling to gamification workflow
Understand the basic limitations and requirements for art-related tech pieces
Have a basic understanding of Spark Studio and its node-based engineering system
Create and publish filters from Spark to Instagram
This event is suitable for those aged 13+ , though we encourage parents to register and attend with teenagers younger than 16.
Participants Must Bring
Their own laptops (both Macs and PCs work well for Spark)
A Facebook account with which they can access Spark
This event is free, but space is limited.
