Are you looking for a way to enhance your Solar System or Geologic Hazards unit? Vera C. Rubin Observatory is developing a series of free online astronomy investigations using real astronomical data that provide a rich and interactive experience for students. During this webinar you will learn more about how we search for potentially hazardous asteroids, and will explore our new Hazardous Asteroids investigation and related support materials. There will also be time to engage in discussions with your peers about how this investigation may be adapted to work in your classroom contexts and support your learning outcomes. This investigation has been designed for the NGSS but is applicable even if you do not teach the national standards. The primary audience is from advanced middle school through college introductory astronomy (“Astro 101”) students. NESTA will provide certificates of participation to all who complete the workshop, upon request.
