Grow and Learn: Making a Self-Watering Garden with Recycled Materials

September 11, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join this 2-part growing series where we will teach the youngest to the eldest participants how to repurpose recyclable items found in or around the home as simple habitats for fruit, vegetables, herbs, and/or plants you want to grow. For the 1st class, the participants will be making a DIY Self-Watering Garden which is entitled, “Landfill to Window Sill”. The participants will be provided all materials plus a variety of growing medium to choose from to sow their own seeds as they construct their own individual Self-Watering Water Bottle Garden. We want to do our part to help those in the community realize that sustainability is more than just a buzzword, but a way of life as it relates to being resilient and using resources around us to adapt and survive. We do this by using Hands-IN-Activities and encourage others to pay what they learned forward.
