Celebrate the 2023 Great Southeast Pollinator Census with The Happy Black Parent and Trees Atlanta. Make a difference for pollinator conservation. Meet us at the Trees Atlanta Kendeda TreeHouse for pollinator-themed stories and activities, then we’ll walk to the adjacent Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum to count pollinators together.
About the Great Southeast Pollinator Census: The Great Southeast Pollinator Census was started in response to work in community and school gardens by Project Coordinator Becky Griffen. A pilot project of 50 gardens was launched in 2017 and repeated in 2018.
About The Happy Black Parent: At The Happy Black Parent, we believe that happy children are children who consistently have the opportunity to play and creatively express themselves. We also believe that parenting is a much more enjoyable experience when children are happy. Strong relationships are built when quality time is spent together, truly enjoying one another’s company. And, those strong relationships are essential to tackling some of the most difficult challenges families face.

- Age group: All Ages but activities are designed for elementary school aged children
- Getting Here: Bike racks are located on the side of the building (near the silo in the Picnic Patio). We are approximately 1 mile from the Oakland City and West End MARTA train stations (Red and Gold Lines). Limited number of parking spaces are available at our location, in addition to limited street parking.
- What to Wear and Bring: Close-toed shoes, comfy clothes for inside and outside, blanket or camping chairs to be comfortable while counting pollinators, snack (NO NUTS!), Water bottle (We highly encourage reusable water bottles.), Bug and sun protection (sunscreen and a hat),
