Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) leads this episode of Ask the Expert. Our speaker, GFC Community Forester and tree advocate, Lea Clark knows Georgia forests. Her focus is on providing support for cities, counties, and tree advocacy groups to improve the urban tree canopy. Lea will address the importance of soil quality, as well as the health benefits that trees provide to our communities. Georgia is the #1 forestry state in the nation, and the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) works to promote, protect and conserve healthy, sustainable forests. About the Speaker: Lea Clark is an ISA certified Arborist who has worked as a paralegal, a criminal defense lawyer, and a college professor. After getting a Master’s in Forestry from UGA, she is now with the Georgia Forestry Commission as the Community Forester for Northeast Georgia, with 40 counties in her territory.
