Students learn how scientists and volunteers categorize and collect data on litter found in and around bodies of water, then work together to perform a strategic survey to collect lake trash data while kayaking.
We partner with Murphs Surf Shop to study the science of Lake Allatoona. Each 3-hour workshop, consists of on-shore, hands-on science activities as well as field science data collection as we kayak along the shoreline. Bring a lunch and we will take a lunch break at the surf shop. Registration includes kayak and life jacket rental.
