AQUATIC FIELD SCIENCE: Aquatic Microorganisms

We collect water and sediment samples as we kayak the shoreline and return to shore to investigate and document the microorganisms collected. Kids learn the proper use of a field microscope and quantify the biodiversity of the aquatic environment.
We partner with Murphs Surf Shop to study the science of Lake Allatoona. Each 3-hour workshop, consists of on-shore, hands-on science activities as well as field science data collection as we kayak along the shoreline. Bring a lunch and we will take a lunch break at the surf shop. Registration includes kayak and life jacket rental.
