Nature Navigators invites curious explorers into the green spaces found in and around Atlanta to uncover the science unfolding all around us. On this special birding-focused adventure, we’ll sharpen our observation skills and learn how birds serve as important indicators of ecosystem health, revealing stories about migration, habitat, adaptation, and resilience.
Think of this walk as part birding expedition, part outdoor science lab. We’ll make frequent stops to listen, observe, and ask questions about the feathered residents and seasonal visitors we encounter, using curiosity as our guide. Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply bird-curious, this is a chance to slow down and see the forest from a new perspective.
Get ready to follow the songs, scan the treetops, and discover the wild world above us. Bring water, snacks or a mobile meal, comfortable walking shoes, and if you have them, binoculars or a field guide. Children are always welcome as long as they’re up for the adventure, or happy to ride along in a backpack!
Meet your guide Alex on the right side of the admin building. Follow the blue directional Science ATL signs! Check out the park map here.
